Amalya Nini, born in Israel to parents of Yemenite origin, studied painting in Israel and New York City. She now lives in the outskirts of Jerusalem. For the past 15 years she has been working in water color and creating intricate papercuts. Recently she has been transferring her work to the medium of the serigraph. Her unique pieces are inspired by themes from the bible, the Israeli landscape and Jewish tradition. Amalya has participated in numerous exhibitions and shows in Israel and the U.S. Among the topics of her prints are the blessing of the home, the Mizrach, dodi li from the Song of Songs, images of Jerusalem, and quotations from the Torah and the Sayings of the Fathers.
