Hermann Struck produced 25 portrait etchings to illustrate this book, Das Ostjuedische Antlitz” (“The Face of Eastern European Jews”) by Arnold Zweig. This is the 2nd edition, published 1922 by Welt-Verlag in Berlin. The Struck portraits, some of which we have as separate hand signed sheets on this site, are marvelous. But the book is in fragile condition. Because of the poor paper quality, some of the pages are tearing off (As far as we can tell none are missing.) and all are deeply time stained. The volume is still tightly bound; the cloth cover is bleached on the spine and top front and back with minor scrapes and corner bumps.
