This is an arrestingly designed lead free pewter mezuzah case. The rounded body with a repeated shin as the decorative element is flanked by two columns that invoke the gates of the Holy Temple.

A pewter tree branch ends with a hand to become a yad. The branch is decorated with vines, and a small Mogen David into which are set small blue crystals. The name of the designer, Mary DeMarco is stamped on one side

To form this elegant hand made kiddush cup, she has combined brass fittings with rolled pewter sheeting. The cup’s form is classic, while the treatment is contemporary. She has signed (Joy Stember) and dated (2011) the piece on the bottom of the base.
